Katarzyna M. Mika is a recent graduate from the MLitt in English Literary Studies at the University of Aberdeen (UK), having previously obtained the MA in French and Literature in a World Context from the same university. She has currently embarked on a PhD program at the University of Leeds (UK) and is working on the narrativizations of the 2010 Haitian Earthquake. She hopes to learn Haitian Creole and travel to Haiti. Her research interests include, among others, postcolonial and diaspora studies, comparative literature, narratives of disasters, aesthetics of violence, and trauma studies. In her spare time, she enjoys long-distance cross country train journeys and innumerable cups of black coffee.
