Primary tabs
Emma Charlotte Weiher is in her final year as a student of North American studies at Philipps University of Marburg, Germany. She earned BA degrees in Anglophone studies and Art History and focuses on interdisciplinary research that aims to combine the two fields of study. She is especially interested in representations of womanhood, having written on the tradition of the female muse in Pre-Raphaelite art as well as on the presence of the female voice in Gothic fiction of the nineteenth century. In the future, she would like to further focus on concepts of monstrous femininity in both art and literature. She is currently researching representations of mythic figures and female sexuality, with a particular interest in the works of Margaret Atwood, Anne Carson, and Louise Glück.
