Caroline graduated with a bachelor's degree in American studies with a focus on literature and (popular) culture from Leipzig University in the summer of 2016. Before moving to Leipzig for her studies in 2012, Caroline volunteered as a German teacher at a Russian school in Novosibirsk, Siberia, and interned with newspapers in her hometown Berlin. As an undergrad, Caroline spent two semesters as an exchange student at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts and completed three internships related to intercultural exchange in Chicago. Now a student in the American Studies Master's Program at Leipzig University, Caroline's research foci include rape culture, civil and women's rights, LGBTQ+ issues, and immigration and the multicultural society. She is especially interested in sexuality and (sexual) violence and its manifestations in contemporary American culture and society.
