Since my graduation from Moscow State Linguistic University in 2011 as a Bachelor of Linguistics in English and French, I have been changing jobs and places (say field trip at a global scale) until I found myself at the Institut of American Studies at Leipzig University as a Master student in 2014. The part which is most appealing to me in the American Studies program is that it gives me a palette of different approaches and disciplines that can be mixed in order to pursue my academic freedom. aspeers itself is, in a sense, a great experiment. During my final bachelor year my main focus was on studying the media language, in particular that of newspapers. However, the focus of my interests has shifted a little bit over the course of time. Although the primary interests of my studies here lie in American literture, popular culture, race and the body, I also like exploring art, photography, and fashion.
