On behalf of Prof. Marina Camboni, contributor to the 1 (2008) issue of aspeers, we broadcast the following conference announcement. The conference promises to be attractive for junior scholars as well.

Between the 16th and the 22nd of June 2008 the first Walt Whitman Week takes place at the Technische Universität Dortmund, Germany. Students, researchers and Whitman enthusiasts are invited to participate. The Walt Whitman Week consists of a seminar for advanced students interested in Whitman and Whitman’s poetry and a symposium bringing together international scholars and graduate students.

The event is sponsored by the Transatlantic Walt Whitman Association, of which Prof. Marina Camboni is a member. Marina Camboni has contributed the essay “Two John Smiths and a a Tent” to the first issue of aspeers.
