Alexander Hackel-Johnson

Alexander Hackel-Johnson is currently an MA student in English Literature and Linguistics at the University of Zurich. He was born near Boston, Massachusetts, and grew up in Switzerland before returning to Boston for his BA in English. After graduating, he worked as a language teacher in the US and Switzerland for a few years; however, he found himself missing academia and started his MA in 2023. His research interests include contemporary literature, ecocriticism, and examining the construction of ideology and temporality within texts. Upon completing his MA thesis, he intends to pursue a PhD in Literature. When he is not reading, he spends his time playing basketball, watching films, or going on walks.
