Jessica Kersten

After earning her bachelor’s degree in American Studies at Leipzig University in 2025, Jessica decided to continue her academic journey in the master’s program at ASL. With her BA thesis on protests during the HIV/AIDS epidemic, her academic research is generally concerned with US society and history, and specifically with queerness and intersectionality. During her MA in Leipzig, she anticipates developing new interests beyond that. However, if Jessica is not busy with university-related work, she enjoys dancing either at historic dance balls or at the Karneval club in her hometown.
