Mario De Luca is an MA student in American Studies at ASL. He holds a graduate degree in Business Administration (Diplom-Kaufmann) and, after several years in a professional career outside academia, returned to university to pursue long-standing academic interests.
His research interests focus on the intersections of race, class, and sexuality in US culture. During his BA studies, he examined visual representations of whiteness in American cultural artifacts, with particular attention to how whiteness is negotiated and contested across media forms.
In his free time, he enjoys reading American literature, collecting books, building a vinyl record collection, spending time with friends and family, and dreaming of a small house in the Tuscan hills.
