Sequana Birkel

Sequana Birkel completed her bachelor’s degree in American studies and history at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany, in 2023. In 2022, she started her MA in American studies and is currently writing her thesis. Already during her bachelor’s, she developed a strong interest in American (contemporary) history and populism as well as in the rhetorical analysis of presidential speeches, newspapers, and other language-based sources. She plans for a future in academia with the goal of teaching; however, working in journalism and publishing is also a career option for her. To balance her intellectual work, she is creatively active, published a comic for the Frankfurter Netzwerk für Suizidprävention in 2021, and has been engaged in this field ever since. Apart from that, her hobbies include films and film studies, creative writing, as well as sports.
