Joanna Xerinda

After completing a semester abroad at the Hobart & William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York, Joanna earned her bachelor’s degree in American studies from the University of Leipzig. Her undergraduate thesis focused on racially motivated censorship and book bans in the context of national 'anti-woke culture wars.' Throughout her studies, she developed research interests in African American history and culture as well as contemporary US politics. In 2024, she continued her academic journey by enrolling in the master’s program at American Studies Leipzig. Outside academia, she enjoys exploring new activities, exercising, and creating pottery.
