Charlyn is currently pursuing her MA in American Studies at Leipzig University, where she also earned her BA in 2024. Her undergraduate thesis focused on the Female Gothic in fiction, reflecting her passion for horror literature and film. She was awarded a Fulbright scholarship and a scholarship from the German-American Institute Saxony, allowing her to spend a year abroad at Mount Holyoke College, where she also worked as a Teaching Assistant in the German department. Academia has become such a central part of her life that she plans to pursue a PhD, with a research focus on American Gothic and horror studies. Before beginning her studies, she spent a year and a half traveling across Canada, followed by six months in Lisbon—an experience that deepened her love for travel, which she continues to embrace whenever possible. When in Leipzig, she enjoys reading, writing whimsical poems, and indulging in her passion for coffee.
