Serëzha Goncharov

After completing their bachelor’s degree at the (now almost non-existent) faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences of Saint Petersburg State University in Russia, Serëzha Goncharov’s journey to the master’s program of American Studies Leipzig took him several years, countries, and unforgettable life encounters. By acquiring so much empirically, the urge to acquire and give academically is what eventually got their picture hanging on the webpage you are reading now. Inside academia, Serëzha’s research interests revolve around narrative, queer, (pop-)cultural, and identity studies, especially focused on notions of immigration and gender. Outside of academia, Serëzha can be found at a techno party, a contemporary art gallery, or a botanical garden; or not found at all, due to them being on yet another trip to visit one of his scattered-around-the-world friends.
