As a passionate traveler curious about everything different from the society she grew up in (Germany), Erb pursued a BA in Intercultural European and American Studies. The scope of her studies enabled her to gain valuable academic and work experience in the US, southeast Europe, and India. Although now being culturally sensitized, the biggest lesson she learned from her studies and practical experience is that the lack of understanding and concern towards the ‘other’ grows despite globalization and increasing commingling of cultures. Erb sees a deficit in government actions to embrace and eventually see an opportunity in other nations’ ways of life, beliefs, and thought processes. She aims to avail of her strength and vision of contributing to a new mosaic of coexistence of various cultures by pursuing her master’s degree in public affairs (as per the Anglo-American approach), with specialization in social and economic policies.
