Laura Michelle Pröger is a master’s student of American Studies at the University of Leipzig. Having finished her undergraduate degree in British Studies with American Studies as a minor, her bachelor’s thesis focused on Netflix’ The Crown as a carrier of cultural memory and a signifier for British national identity. Having taken courses in linguistics, history, politics, and translation, her main interest has been in literary and cultural studies.
Laura’s research interests circle around cinema/film and media studies, popular culture, and queer studies, thereby recently focusing on matters of representation, visibility, and intersectionality issues of LGBTQI* culture.
When not investing her time in academia, Laura loves to spend time outdoors, writing prose, and playing the piano.
