Born and raised in California, Josette received her B.A. in Comparative Literature from San Francisco State University in 2019. With a particular focus on 19th and 20th century literature, her research interests lie at the intersection of literary analysis, cultural history, and political theory. Josette was a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Dortmund from 2019-2020 before beginning her M.A. in American Studies in Leipzig. Her experiences living in the Bay Area inform her burgeoning interest in media and communication studies, philosophical inquiries into technology, and theories of social justice. In her free time, you might find her rock climbing, planning an elaborate road trip, or perfecting her homemade ravioli recipe.
