Ella Ernst

Graduating from the University of Leipzig with a BA in American Studies in 2020, Ella decided to continue her education by entering the MA American Studies program to pursue her interest in American literature and culture. Having completed her undergraduate degree with a thesis on escapism in cable channel television, she hopes to further develop this idea by examining other examples from popular culture and by including other disciplines, such as American history, in her research. Courses throughout her undergraduate program have also fostered her research interest in identity politics and narrativity. Although her plans following her graduate studies are not set in stone yet, she is considering working for international cultural or educational exchange programs.
