Jessica Walter

Jessica Walter (she/her) is currently an MA student in the American Studies program at Humboldt-University of Berlin, where she also received her bachelor's degree. She recently returned to Berlin from a year-long academic exchange with the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. After her completing her graduate studies, Jessica looks forward to pursuing a career in academia. Her academic interests are primarily focused on contemporary media representations in the framework of queer of color critique. The article that appears here draws on her 2018 BA thesis, "Black Masculinities in Barry Jenkins' 'Moonlight'". Aside from her scholarly endeavors, Jessica also writes, makes art, and plays music (or at least she tries to).
