Konstantin Butz is a researcher and lecturer at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. He has studied American Studies and Cultural Studies at the University of Bremen and at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Konstantin holds a doctorate degree in American Studies from the University of Cologne. His dissertation on the interconnection of early skateboarding and punk scenes in the USA was published as Grinding California: Culture and Corporeality in American Skate Punk (transcript, Bielefeld, 2012). His research interests include subcultures, youth cultures, and (un-) popular music and literature.
