Hedwig Lieback

After having graduated with a BA in American Studies from the University of Leipzig, Hedwig did an internship with a research team focusing on Intersexuality and Gender at the University of Porto and returned to Leipzig in October 2017 to pursue graduate work in American Studies. A year abroad at the University of Texas at Austin fostered her research interests in theories of social justice, the study of resistance movements, and political theory. When she is not reading, trying to figure out how to cite a tweet, or screening obscure web spaces for subversive memes, she enjoys (more or less) scholarly debates about popular culture and capitalism. What the future holds is unpredictable but she would like to pursue a PhD exploring the intersection of Cultural Studies and political theory.
