Carolin Benack currently majors in American literature and economics in the MA program at the John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies at Freie Universität Berlin. After spending a year at the University of California, Irvine, she completed her BA in North American Studies and Comparative Literature in 2013 with a thesis on the depiction of finance capital in Don DeLillo’s Cosmopolis and Adam Haslett’s Union Atlantic. She intends to pursue a PhD after finishing her MA. In her free time, she enjoys doing jigsaw puzzles of the most tacky images she can find.
