During my undergraduate studies at Leipzig University I focused on British and American history, culture, literature, and linguistics. At the same time, I enhanced my language skills in both French and Spanish. Searching for a new way to challenge myself, I successfully applied for the American Studies master’s program.
Academically, my main interest currently lies in the representations of ethnic as well as sexual and gender minorities in popular culture and their effects on public opinion and social policy. I am also fascinated by the rather broad topic of identity construction, especially in these times of advanced globalization.
Personally, I am happily devoting my life to traveling around the world and learning about the most diverse peoples and cultures.
