About Wieland Schwanebeck

Wieland Schwanebeck has been studying German and English at the TU in Dresden. Having spent a year abroad working as a Foreign Language Assistant, he completed his teaching degree in 2009 and is currently teaching literary studies in Dresden, while completing his MA thesis at the same time. His fields of research include German literary history of the twentieth century, the Anglo-American university novel, gender studies, film and media studies. After the completion of his thesis on the university novel, he wants to start a dissertation project and teach literary theory, hopefully to eager students.
Whenever he is not busy preparing his classes, adding some more material to his research project, or quoting mob movies, he enjoys reading, visits to the theater, as well as playing the violin. He is married and has been living in Dresden for the past six years.
