Anton Hieke was born in 1980 in Wolfen, Germany. He is affiliated with the library of the Center for United States Studies in Wittenberg as a graduate assistant and enrolled at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. As a doctoral candidate, he explores German Jewish immigration to the Reconstruction South. His main scholarly interest lies in the field of Jewish American history, especially of the Jewish South. His interest in the phenomenon of American Jewish crime as well as local Jewish history is carried as a hobby.
