About Stefan Schubert

I got my BA in American studies from the University of Leipzig in 2009 and was admitted to the ASL MA program the same year, which makes me one of the editors of the 3 (2010) issue of aspeers. Academically, I mainly focus on approaching popular culture with an interest in narrativity and textual dynamics. I am particularly interested in intertextual/intermedial connections between media such as novels, films, TV series, video games, and various forms of ‘new’ media. I’m also (somewhat more casually) interested in gender and masculinity studies, contemporary American politics and history, linguistics, and Japan(ese studies). After my MA, I plan to pursue a PhD in American studies/popular culture studies.
