About Stefan Schubert

I got my BA in American studies from the University of Leipzig in 2009 and was admitted to the MA program the same year, which makes me one of the editors of the 3 (2010) issue of aspeers. While I consider the field of popular culture to be my main interest in academics, my other research interests revolve around a range of topics and disciplines, especially literary theory and narratology, gender and masculinity studies, as well as scholarship on film, TV shows, games, the Internet, and generally ‘new media.’ I’m also equally interested in contemporary American politics and history, linguistics, and Japan(ese studies). After my MA, I plan to pursue a PhD in American studies/popular culture, fusing this variety of interests into a potentially interdisciplinary and transnational research project.
