On 19 April 2010, 5 p.m., American Studies Leipzig and the aspeers e.V. will celebrate the release of the third issue of aspeers:emerging voices in american studies, Europe’s first and currently only graduate-level peer-reviewed journal in American studies. The publication project is part of American Studies Leipzig’s MA program. Over the course of the last semester, an editing team of eight MA students has worked to select contributions, revise them together with the authors, edit them, and make them ready for publication. The result is a 120-page volume to be presented as part of the event.

This third issue, publicly available as of Monday’s celebration, is organized around the topic of Crime and America. It contains three academic papers by European MA students, five creative contributions from around the world, and an interview with Professor Alfred Hornung.
