Today, the American Studies Leipzig community celebrated the release of the second issue of aspeers:emerging voices in american studies. This year’s editorial team welcomed faculty, staff, fellow students, last year’s editors, and two of this year’s contributors for a release ceremony, drinks, and food at the Bibliotheca Albertina lecture hall.

Prof. Anne Koenen congratulated the editors for their achievement and, together with course instructor Sebastian M. Herrmann, handed them certificates acknowledging the extraordinary work they had done. Sending his greetings via email, Prof. Peter Schneck, president of the German Association for American Studies (DGfA) stressed the “significance of aspeers” for american studies both within Germany and in an international context.

With the event, this year’s editorial team released the journal to the public. It is now available online and in print.
